Course Description/Overview
Students in Digital Video Production will learn how to use the equipment needed to produce a digital video production. This includes high-end digital cameras, remote controls, intercoms, microphones, lights and video and audio mixers among other things. In addition, they will learn various techniques used in filming and editing video. Green screen or Chroma-keying will be used along with nonlinear editing software such as iMovie and Final Cut Pro. By the end of the course, students will have studied and practiced all aspects of producing a video production. Students will work behind the camera, work on sound, lights, special effects, write scripts, direct and produce productions and develop an on-air personality. The equipment, which totals over $155,000, is provided by WDEE Deerfield’s Cable Channel 986/985 Television Station. WDEE would like to air student projects from this class.
