Our district assesses student learning in a variety of ways including mandated standardized state assessments, district initiated assessments and classroom measures. Student performance is measured, analyzed and reviewed at multiple levels to improve classroom practice and drive district-wide curriculum decisions. ACCESS for English Language Learners - Federal and state laws require that students identified as English Learners (ELs) be assessed annually to determine their level of English language proficiency and ensure that they are progressing in achieving full English proficiency. This includes students who receive special education services.
Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) - The online DLM assessment measures the academic progress of students with the most significant cognitive disabilities in the subject areas of English Language Arts and mathematics at grades 3-11, Science at grades 4 and 8-11, and Social Studies at grades 4, 8, 10.
Forward Exam - The state-wide Forward exam is administered online in the spring of each school year at various levels. Grades 3-8 test in English Language Arts and mathatics. Grades 4 and 8 test in Science. Grades 4, 8 and 10 test in Social Studies. The test is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards.
ACT and Pre-ACT - The state-wide ACT is given to all 11th grade students in the spring. The state-wide Pre-ACT is given to all 9th and 10th grade students in the spring.
WISEdash - DPI provides results for student achievement, behavior, demographics and resources by district.
