Course Description/Overview No matter what career you choose, you are going to be affected by Computer technology. Your ability to understand and utilize that technology efficiently will play a large part in determining how successful you will be. Grade 8 Computer Science will help take the mystery out of why computer hardware and software works the way they do, and introduce you to the process of programming. In the class we will take a quick historical look at how computers started and developed into the ones we use today. We will gain an understanding of the components that make up a computer and learn how they work together. Finally, we will be introduced to programming and problem solving concepts as we practice writing our own programs. |
