Testing Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) is a program of the Center for Talent Development (CTD) that offers above-grade-level testing for high-performing students in grades 3-9. Deerfield students in grades 1-8 participate in STAR testing which provides all students with an out-of-grade level testing experience if they need one and therefore will provide the district with an accurate assessment of students' abilities. Students in grades 9-10 take the PreACT Secure and students in grade 11 will take the Statewide ACT during the school day.
