The Deerfield Community School District strives to provide opportunities for all students to challenge themselves and to extend their learning throughout their educational careers in the district.
Elementary School: At the elementary school, students participate in programs sponsored by the Greater Dane County Advanced Learner Network, such as the Greater Dane Anthology project, Archimedes Math Team, and Math 24.
Middle School: At the Middle School level, qualified students may elect to take Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth courses in place of literature classes, and writers enter the Greater Dane Anthology project. Advanced math courses are offered, and there is a middle school Archimedes Math Team. Musically-minded students participate in middle school Show Choir and Jazz Band.
High School: In high school, students are encouraged to take advantage of AP and advanced, "college preparatory" courses, and Youth Apprenticeship. There are also many school clubs and opportunities for students to gain further experience in their interests: Academic Decathlon, Art Club, Forensics, National Honor Society, Student Council, Jazz Band, Musical, Solo and Ensemble, United Against Hate, and the Conference Art Show.
