Students at Deerfield have SOLE! Respect for Self, Others, Learning, and Environment.
Ask for permission to leave the classroom. Sign out and take the pass with you. Be aware that I may ask you to wait until after I have finished teaching or giving instructions. Don’t abuse the privilege or we will have to discuss limiting passes, and nobody wants that.
If you are not in the room when the bell rings, you are tardy. Be prepared for class and come to class on time!
No food or drink is allowed in my classroom except see-through plastic water bottles. I will ask you not to bring them into the room if we are doing a lab involving chemicals.
No cell phones or electronics are allowed. It is best if they are left in your locker. There is otherwise a storage place to keep your phones in the classroom. Please have them switched off. Watches with the same texting functions as phones should have notifications turned off while in class. Earbuds and headphones are not to be used unless there is a specific task that requires them.
