Course Description:
Physics is the scientific study of matter and energy and how they interact with each other. This course covers topics in mechanics including motion in one and two dimensions, vectors, Newton’s Laws, momentum, energy and waves. Additional topics such as light, optics, and electric energy may be included. However, this physics course attempts to focus on the concepts as opposed to the mathematical formulas as a way to learn physics, and ultimately become a better thinker. This does not mean there will be no math involved, but it is my goal for each and every student to leave this class with a much better understanding of the workings of the physical world. In the simplest of definitions, physics is how things work, and that is what we are here to explore.
