Hi! My name is Stephanie Peterson, and I am teaching 4K at Deerfield Elementary School. Although I lived in Deerfield for a number of years, I currently live in Janesville, with my husband, Tyler. We have four boys Jake (27), Brenden (23), Alex (23), and Matthew (21), all of which attended Deerfield Schools. Our eldest lives in South Dakota with his wife and my two grandchildren, while the younger three still live at home while attending college. Rounding out the household, my father-in-law and two dogs also live with us. I graduated from UW-Whitewater with a dual certification degree in Early Childhood and Special Education.
This is my third year as a classroom teacher but I have served multiple roles within the district over the past 15 years, including educational assistant, substitute teacher, and summer school teacher. I am incredibly excited to be teaching 4K because I have always especially enjoyed working with this age group—I love how enthusiastic they are to learn! I believe in building strong relationships and hope to do that with my students, as well as their families, to create an amazing first (for most) school experience for everybody.
