Adele Jensen

My name is Mrs. Adele Jensen, and I have been teaching in Deerfield since 2001.  I am excited about the opportunity to teach fourth grade again this year! I graduated with my bachelor's degree from UW-Whitewater in 2000, and received my master's degree from UW-La Crosse in 2008.  

My biggest goal for my students is to help them learn how to respect and get along with others. We start most days with a Morning Meeting, which helps each student feel welcome and practice working together in a positive, structured environment. 

The fourth grade curriculum will keep your child busy learning many new things. In math, students will continue their work with place value and basic operations by extending their understanding of multiplying and dividing multi-digit numbers. In science, students learn about  human body systems, animal and plant adaptations, Earth's features, and sound waves. In social studies, students will focus on Wisconsin geography and history. We are using the ARC Core program for language arts. Students learn reading, spelling, grammar, and writing skills through whole group and small group lessons.
