Meet Mrs. Leigh | 1st Grade Teacher
Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Kristin Leigh (pronounced Lee), and I am so proud to be a 1st grade teacher at Deerfield Elementary School. The 2026–2027 school year marks my 29th year of teaching here in Deerfield—time truly flies when you love what you do!

About Me & My Deerfield Roots:

Education: Graduated from Edgewood College in Madison, WI with degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.
Community Connection: Deerfield isn't just where I teach; it's where I live, where my husband, Jasen, and I raised our three children (McCoy, Jaimeson, and Kadence), and where I went to middle and high school myself!
Outside the Classroom: When I’m not at school, I love spending quality time with my family, friends, and dogs. You can usually find me reading a good book, tending to my garden, hiking, snowmobiling, or exploring new places I've never been before!

My Classroom Philosophy: My primary goal is for every child to feel loved, motivated, challenged, and successful. I value open communication and believe strongly in partnering with families. Together, we will create meaningful experiences that help your child grow as a student and as a kind, caring individual.
