PE DRESS CODE
To promote personal hygiene and safety during PE, a standard dress requirement will be enforced. Each student will be expected to participate in their physical education class wearing their uniform t-shirt OR PE designated t-shirt. Also required is shorts or pants that are loose-fitting and not prohibitive of movement. Tennis shoes are required for every class.
TOTAL BODY CHALLENGE EXPECTATIONS AND GUIDELINES
- You are expected to participate every single day. If you are unable to participate, you need either a note from your parent(s) or family doctor.
- Please change into PE appropriate clothes every single day. We are going to work hard…. very hard and this will lead to some serious sweating. You must also wear tennis shoes.
- Do not be late to class. After the tardy bell rings, you have 3 minutes to change and get into the gym. We have a lot of equipment that will need to be set up for each class and if you are late, you will be behind and miss out.
- Bring a water-bottle as you will need to hydrate frequently during class.
- Take care of our NEW equipment. Please handle all equipment with care when taking it out of the equipment room and putting it away. We are VERY lucky to have received this new equipment so let’s all work together to respect it and make it last.
- Be kind and encourage one another. Some days will be tougher than others and you will need the support of your classmates to get you through. Cheer, High-five, and yell words or encouragement to help your classmates push through the activities.
- Take the assignments, quizzes and tests seriously. If this class is called Total Body Challenge, then we must not only challenge our body but our mind.
- Get ready to have some fun and watch your body change. You are in control of how hard you will work and this will lead to varied results. If you want to increase your muscle size, then add more weight. If you want to tone your muscles then really push yourself to do the repetitions with perfect form and for the entire workout.
- Be creative and offer suggestions and ideas for class. This is your experience.
- Remember, you have the power to make a positive change in your life.
Grading Requirements & Participation Expectations
Daily Participation
Proper dress, participation in activities, attitude, effort, and behavior will determine a student’s participation grade. See rubric below, 10 points* possible per day.
Assessments
Students will complete various activity lessons as well as students are also required to create a Fitness Circuit Lesson and lead it to the class (40 points).
*In addition, if I see you inactive during a workout (other than needing a break), you will receive one warning and then you will lose a point each time I witness the inactivity.
*You will also lose one point each and every time you complain about an activity or workout. It’s up to you to stay motivated.
