This hallway intersection showcases three different types of flooring from different eras. The speckled floor is the original terrazo floor built in 1966. The beige tile floor through one of the original door entrances is an asbestos tile added in 1978. Asbestos tiling was widely used because of its durability in high traffic areas. This floor, which extends down the hall to the small gym entrance, needs to be safely removed and replaced as it has started to chip and crack after 40+ years of foot traffic. The third flooring is carpet which was added to the halls when the 1978 addition was added to the building. This carpet was last replaced in 2003. Did you know we have over 23,000 square feet of carpet in the high school?
