We are very proud of the strong music programs in our schools! Our middle school band has 51 musicians which is 45% of the MS student body. The high school band has 48 musicians which is about 1/4 of the student body and is growing back to its pre-COVID numbers, which is great news! The band room was added in 1978 with a tiered music pit. This floor plan makes it inaccessible for some students and/or staff with disabilities. The room lacks adequate storage for instruments and band uniforms. The proposed plan calls for a dedicated music space with better acoustics and more room for instrument and uniform storage along with a flat floor design accessible for all.
