Active School Grant Continues to Offer the “Walking School Bus”

Wednesdays in October: 12^th, 19^th, and 26^th

Due to the recent success of the “Walking School Bus,” the Deerfield Health and Wellness Committee and Active School Grant want to bring it back for each Wednesday in October!  There were 40 elementary students, 7 high school volunteers, and a handful of parents that enjoyed the mile walk to school on Wednesday, October 5^th!  

Students and parents are encouraged to join this international movement to get kids walking to school.  The drop off point will be at the Glacier Drumlin Bike trail on Main Street, (next to Nelson Lumber).  The “Bus” will leave at 7:15am and parents are invited to walk to school with your child.  There will also be High School Student Council members present to chaperone the walk.  All students that participate will receive a free breakfast bar!
