ALL FORMS ARE LINKED BELOW THIS LETTER
Dear Parents/Guardians:
As a transitional activity for the 7th graders, we will travel on an overnight trip to Upham Woods, an outdoor learning center near Wisconsin Dells, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, September 7th, 8th and 9th. Wednesday morning we will meet in first hour class for attendance, then leave at 8:30 a.m.(approximately) . We will return Friday by 2:00 p.m, so students will be able to either ride the bus home, or be picked up by a parent.
The objective of the trip is for the purpose of class bonding and team building, and is also a great way for us to start to know your student. Activities may include: canoeing, archery, hiking, and the low ropes course, also known as “Peanut Butter Mountain.” Educational programs will include a raptor demonstration, science explorations, animal ecology, archeology, cultural history, habitat restoration, animal adaptations, aquatic ecosystems, and nature walks.
The cost of the trip is $85.00, with scholarships available if needed. Please contact Mr. Johnsrud, or Mrs. Frame for information regarding scholarships.
Students will be given a packing list and we ask that it be followed exactly—not more and not less than what is listed.
Since the trip is on school days, it is expected that all students will attend. This is an awesome opportunity
for the students as well as for their teachers, and we look forward to spending this time together. A Student Expectation form, medical consent form, and permission slip must be signed by each student and a parent before leaving.
Mrs. Frame, Mrs. Jacobson, Mrs. Draheim, Mrs. Grensing, , and several parents will be chaperoning the group.
Please sign and return all forms with money to homeroom teachers by Tuesday, September 6. Checks should be made out to Deerfield Schools. PLEASE MEET THIS DEADLINE, AS A FINAL COUNT
MUST BE TURNED IN TO UPHAM WOODS BY SEPTEMBER 6.
Questions? Please contact Mrs. Frame at 764-5431. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
Sincerely,
The Seventh Grade Staff
