FORWARD...TOGETHER HISTORY
In the summer of 2009, the Deerfield Community School District hosted a Forward...Together conference where over 50 district stakeholders shared their thoughts and ideas on our past, present and future. The purpose of the conference was to provide School Board members and administration a guide in determining future priorities for the district.
Following the conference, the school board reviewed the focus areas brought forward by the group. Building upon the ideas shared at the conference, the Deerfield Board of Education created four District Objectives. These objectives provide the foundation for our continued commitment to excellence and equity in educating all of our students.
DISTRICT OBJECTIVES
- Student Achievement
- District and School Climate/Wellness
- Community Relations
- Budget and Finance
The information printed in the document links below is based on work completed by teachers, school staff, parents, students, community members, business leaders, and members of the Deerfield Board of Education. We are pleased to provide you with a brief summary of work created by this group of dedicated stakeholders during this conference. A summary of the conference was mailed to all district residents in the January 2010 edition of Chalk Talk outlining the ideas shared, the focus areas identified and the district objectives created by the board. The district objectives and focus areas are also introduced and discussed at the annual meeting held in September each year. We are pleased to continue making progress on our initiatives and will continue to strive for excellence and equity in educating all of our students.
