METHODS OF ASSESSING STUDENT PROGRESS:
Students will be assessed by means of Daily work, Graded work, and Quizz/Tests. Grades will be weighted by the following:
Daily work: 10 %
Graded work: 30 %
Quizz/Tests: 60 %
Daily work: Work assigned in class will occur on a fairly regular basis. You are expected to complete all assignments. Some assignments will be checked randomly for effort and completion. These grades will account for 10% of the course grade. This will be listed as “Coursework” in Skyward.
Graded work: Many assignments will be collected and a few randomly selected problems will be graded for accuracy. Anything graded that is not a quiz or test will account for 30% of the course grade. This will be listed as “Homework” in Skyward.
Quizz/Tests: Mid unit quizzes, end of unit tests, and end of quarter final exams will make up 60% of the course grade. There will be no re-takes of quizzes or final exams, however there will be one re-take offered for end of unit tests. This will be listed as “Tests” in Skyward.
RE - TESTING PROCEDURES:
If you do poorly on a unit test, you can re-take the test one time and the two scores will be averaged. In order to re-take the test you will need to:
1. Make Test Corrections on a Separate Sheet of Paper (show all work)
2. Set up a Time to Meet with the instructor to go over test corrections and schedule a time outside of class and the school day to re-take the test.
3. Re-Take the test prior to the next Unit’s Test Date.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS:
Any assignment requested for turn-in to the instructor will be due at the prescribed time. Late assignments will not be accepted after the graded assignment is returned to the class. Up until the assignment is returned to the students, late work will be accepted for reduced credit.
