Welcome to 1st Grade!  My name is Debra Annen. I have had the privilege of teaching in the Deerfield Schools since 1978.  Each year teaching 1st grade is a new adventure.  I am inspired by the student's motivation to learn and the progress that they make.  My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the UW-Madison and a graduate degree from the UW-Madison as a reading specialist.  Each year we strive to develop a caring learning community in our classroom as we discover together the joys of reading, writing, math and the wonders of the world around us in science and social studies.  I truly believe the partnership between home, school and the classroom is the key to each child's learning.  I am committed to helping each student achieve all that he or she can.
