Archimedes Math Meet Results

The 5^th and 6^th grade Archimedes Math Meet scored third place in the regional meet!  Four fifth graders--Mason Bohn, Ethan Dunsirn, Kade Kammann, and Ayden Moynihan--and four sixth graders--Jonah Hewitt, Ashley Jacobs, Jane Lazzara, and Lily Sheets--competed in Belleville on April 16^th against seven other area teams.  Ashley Jacobs scored first place on the Deerfield team and won a trophy for 6^th place overall in the meet.  Jonah Hewitt was the second highest scorer for Deerfield.

On April 17^th, the 7^th and 8^th grade Archimedes Math Meet team competed in Belleville.  Team members were seventh graders Andrew Nebel, Nathan Siewert, Allyson Tebon, and Nick Vander Grinten, and eighth graders Alexis Erickson, Elizabeth Johnson, Reece Matheson, and Calista Wery. Deerfield High Scorers were Alexis Erickson- 1^st place and Calista Wery-2^nd place. Alexis brought home a trophy for having the third highest score out of the 56 students competing. According to coach Jacque Wichlacz, the team “had a wonderful time,” and they stopped at the food court at the mall to celebrate after the meet.
